As an Atlanta-based senior advocacy firm, our services are designed to help you make the best choices in local senior living and in-home care options for your senior loved ones.
Our advocates have first-hand knowledge of Atlanta-area resources. We spend time in senior living communities and personal care homes. Unlike internet searches or referral companies, this benefits the family since our guidance is customized to your specific needs and situation.
We help you, free of charge, to find the right choice in all of the following options…
Independent Living is for seniors, usually over age 55, who are still able to manage their day-to-day routine independently and would enjoy the option of social opportunities and the benefit of additional security. Although custodial or medical care is not available as part of the Independent Living Community, residents may bring in private supportive services. Most communities provide individual kitchens, but may also offer meals in a community dining area.

Assisted Living communities are designed to maximize independence and social connections. In addition to providing assistance with activities of daily living including bathing, dressing, grooming, and transportation they offer a variety of activities, trips and programs. Although Assisted Living communities do not provide medical care, they will provide medication reminders and medication management.

Similar to Assisted Living in providing assistance with activities of daily living, Memory Care offers special programming designed to meet the needs of someone living with dementia. Many forms of dementia, including Alzheimer’s disease, require 24-hour monitoring in a secured environment. Memory Care environments can be a part of a larger Assisted Living community or be a specialized Memory Care only community which feature monitored hallways, decorative visual cues and secured outdoor courtyards to encourage independence while keeping residents as safe as possible.

Residential personal care homes deliver Assisted Living type care in a smaller environment, usually a residential home. Due to their size, they have a higher ratio of caregivers to residents, which makes them ideal for more individual attention and care. Residential personal care homes are governed by the same state requirements as larger communities. Without the overhead of a larger community, residential personal care homes are generally the most affordable senior living option.

Also known as a nursing home, Skilled Nursing is a clinical setting with furnished, shared rooms providing 24-hour licensed nursing supervision. Unlike Assisted Living, Skilled Nursing is permitted to provide complete medical care with Registered nurses (RN) and licensed practical nurses (LPNs) on the premises.
